Hello my name is Rosie Barclay

I am a clinical companion animal behaviourist working in the Channel Islands via veterinary referral helping to address pet behaviour issues. I also offer one to one basic training sessions at hourly rates and can advise on how to help prevent future problems for your new puppy or kitten.

I have a BSc (Hons) in Zoology and an MPhil in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from Nottingham University.

I am a contributing author in “The APBC Book of Companion Animal Behaviour” and have published several academic papers, have given talks and lectures, written numerous magazine and newspaper articles, appeared on national as well as local radio and local and national TV.

I am also an associate expert for ‘The Veterinary Expert’.

I am very proud to state that I do not use any forceful or abusive techniques when modifying your pets behaviour.

I’m also very proud to be a certified member of 'Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians'.

The FABC helps to promote the highest standard of practice in clinical animal behaviour as set by the 'Animal Behaviour and Training Council' and the 'Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons'.

I’m a Certificated Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CCAB) accredited by the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour (ASAB).

Certification is the means by which ASAB demonstrates to the public and to other professions, such as veterinarians, that certain individuals meet the minimum standards of education, experience, and ethics required of a professional clinical animal behaviourist.

I’m past Chair and full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC).

The APBC is an international network of experienced and qualified pet behaviour counsellors who work on referral from veterinary surgeons to treat behaviour problems in dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, horses and other pets.

I’m also an Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC) registered practitioner at Clinical Animal Behaviour level.

The ABTC is the regulatory body that represents animal trainers and animal behaviour therapists to both the public and to legislative bodies. It sets and maintains the standards of knowledge and practical skills needed to be an animal trainer or animal behaviour therapist, and it maintains the national register of appropriately qualified animal trainers and animal behaviourists.
